Hello!
Welcome to United Freelancers! We hope that this site will help independent musicians navigate the freelance world. Our mission is to create a space for people to share their work experiences and create a community watchdog.
So many of us tell horror stories about unpaid contracts, delinquent teaching fees, unfair working practices, unfriendly work environments, sexual harassment, and other abuses. This site is a safe place to rate your experiences with organizations and individuals. It is not, however, a place for vendettas and personal attacks.
It’s not all negative, though! Here you can see which organizations are excellent working environments, who treat their players and teachers well and deserve recognition.
It is our goal to have a more transparent working environment, so that players can make educated decisions about where to work. We rely on the wisdom of the community to make this site as useful as possible. Comments can be made anonymously on all of our posts, but we do require that an email address be provided to help reduce spam. Email addresses are not publicly displayed.
If you would like to add an organization or ensemble to this site, please send an email with a few details to Unitedfreelancers.la@gmail.com
